Diet & Nutrition
Practical medical advice on diet. Learn about the ‘Healthy Plate’ rule, hydration, and plant-based nutrition for longevity.
Food is Medicine
It tells your body how to function. Eating well isn’t about strict limitations; it’s about feeling great, having more energy, and stabilizing your mood.
Eat the Rainbow
Your plate should look colourful. Different colours in fruits and vegetables represent different phytonutrients that your body needs. Aim for at least 3 different colours per meal.
Choose Whole over Refined
Whole grains, beans (legumes), and unrefined oils (like ghee or cold-pressed oils) provide sustained energy. Avoid ultra-processed foods that spike your sugar and crash your energy. Refined = degraded.
Mindful Portions
It takes 20 minutes for your stomach to tell your brain that it is full. Eat slowly. Stop when you are 75% full. This simple habit prevents overeating and improves digestion.
Hydration is Key
Many times, we confuse thirst with hunger. Drink water when you are thirsty. Drink water when you crave for unhealthy food. Staying hydrated is important for health and to avoid cravings.
